The community-based tourism route of communities near Kaeng Krachan National Park in Phetchaburi Province, a forest recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Ban Padeng Neau, Moo 1, Padeng Sub-district, Kang Kracharn District, Petchaburi originally was a place for immigrants from Ta-Yang District, Petchaburi. The immigrants started to settle down at Ban Padeng Neau. They sold Thai bamboo at Ta-Yang District for earning their living. Afterwards, they began to set up farms as their main works. After in 1981, the Thai Government announced this area Kang Kracharn National Industrial Area. So, Padeng Neau Village is one of the villages which have been located in the National Park area since 1983.
Tourist attractions such as follow;
First point: Wandering through a rubber farm before visiting and tasting various kinds of fruits. Visitors can wander in the rubber farm amid the peaceful and shady surroundings. This is one of the most popular photographic spots. They can take unique-styled photos here.
Second point: Fruit farm Amid the nature of Kaeng Krachan forest, Ban Padeng Neau still has Thai famous fruits including durians, rambutans, mangosteens and longans which umbelieably all of them are sold here as if the travelers are visiting a fruit farm in Chantaburi and Rayong. This is because this area is not for growing these fruits.
Third Point: Corn farm scenic spot, telephone waves distribution point. To begin with leaving a fruit farm and heading to a hiking area at the end of the village which is a corn farm on the hill, this area has not only wonderful scenery of the richly green corn farm but an interesting spot at the entrance of the farm. This spot is where two telephone waves are distributed, and visitors can enjoy finding waves here.
Fourth point: Traveling through a road which is a weir and also a natural canal. Travelers can follow the road paved through the village and the canal which embraces the village. In rainy season, visitors can see the current in the canal swiftly flowing and hitting rocks and a weir which causes a number of beautiful white bubbles. The visitors can also see fine scenery of colorful butterflies flying around the weir area.
Fifth point: Visiting Pranburi River Watershed Management Unit, enjoying coffee and seeing wild elephants. Headed south from Padeng Neua Village, it is 3 kilometers away from the village. Travelers can visit Pranburi River Watershed Management Unit for the distribution of natural forest plantations. The visitors can enjoy roasting and grinding Arabica-Robusta coffee beans, together with drinking an excellent cup of coffee. They also can buy coffee products as souvenirs. In the afternoon, the visitors can see a horde of wild elephants finding food near the unit. However, the visitors should not make a loud sound when they are close to elephants. This is because it may cause the visitors danger.
Sixth point: Visiting Karens, hill-tribal people, and seeing scenery of shining stars at night. Moving south for a while, visitors can stay for nights to see the way of life of Karens including, traditions, occupations, foods and milking cows. Additionally, there is Padeng Highland People Development Zone in Padeng Tai, Moo 6 within the village, for visitors to learn the way of life of people here. Moreover, if the night sky is clear, the visitors will be able to see the Milky Way and a number of bright stars. In the morning, they also can see a sea of morning mist.
